for the Tech Link. “No articles, no Tech Link.”
-
Awards: Gene Wachtel passed around the letters of recommendation
for award nominees. Voting ensued and the award recipients
were chosen.
-
College Report: Scott Calahan sent his report to Gene Wachtel,
who read it to the board. Scott reported that there are currently
10 students in Industrial Technology Education at Central Washington
University. Interest appears to be on the rise. While
Scott encourages students to join WITEA, last year they received
no confirmation of membership or any newsletters. CWU is in
the process of NCATE accreditation. Scott will be attending
the ITEA Conference in San Antonio in March.

teachers was tabled until the May board meeting.
-
New Business: Gene Wachtel mentioned that we need a form
for the Robert Raudebaugh $500 grant for the teacher essay at Spring
Conference.
a). The essay is to answer the question, “What
will I do or need in my classroom for an extra $500?” Consensus
was that the award should
be based on innovation, student motivation and inspiration. The
winner also needs to send documentation of grant expenditure.
b). We also need a new form for award nominees with the criteria
explained. Mike Criner said he would prepare the forms based
on ITEA’s criteria
and send them to Gene Wachtel for approval/corrections.
-
Adjournment: Gene
Wachtel adjourned the meeting at 11:25 A.M.
-
Board Approval pending.
